Mulligan Stew & Canine Caviar can recall
From www.itchmo.com
Canine Caviar CEO says it’s not a “recall,” they are “collecting” these products and maintains the products are safe. If the company that made the food says it’s a recall, we’re calling it a recall. We have added his email after the jump. The CEO’s email added Canine Caviar Gourmet Beaver 5.5oz cans to the list below. ORIGINAL POST: Itchmo has learned that the list of foods recalled by American Nutrition has expanded to include the following 4 dog food items: * Mulligan Stew Chicken 13.2oz * Mulligan Stew Turkey 13.2oz * Canine Caviar Gourmet Beaver 13.2oz * Canine Caviar Gourmet Turkey 13.2oz ---------------------------- American Nutrition, the processor for the latest round of recalls has set up a website, but I wouldn't count on it being up to date, as they seem to think this is ALL that's going to be recalled and as we all know 6 weeks into this (criminey that's unbelievable) it just doesn't seem to end. http://www.americannutritioninc.com/ So I had to look at Canine Caviar after that astounding statement that this recall is not a recall: http://www.caninecaviar.com/ Canine Caviar is voluntarily recalling less than 1500 cans in circulation nationally (not cases) and expects to have this collected within 48 hours of April 27, 2007. This unexpected situation is due to the fact that our canned food co-packer was using ingredients that were not authorized by Canine Caviar. Our canned foods have not officially tested positive, but we are recalling the following three can SKU’s: 13.2 oz Gourmet Turkey – UPC 674555222134, 13.2 oz Gourmet Beaver – UPC 674555221328, 5.5 oz Gourmet Beaver – UPC 674555221557 dated best by Aug 21, 08 or later. All of the Gourmet Duck and Venison Tripe in the 13.2 oz cans are made to our standards and do not have any grains in them and are not part of the recall. [..] We apologize and have taken steps to increase quality control to ensure this does not happen in the future, we are demanding production records from all or our co-packers for all of our formulas before they are shipped to us. --------------- OK, 6 weeks into the recall and some idiot puts a message like this on their website? ..........they're collecting cans so it's not a recall? .....not officially tested positive? What the flock does that mean? That it hasn't been tested? ......all the Duck and Venison were made to our standards, but oops in the meantime we're going to look at production records (for the first time since when?) to make sure they actually were? .........if the CEO of the company cannot understand how pet people feel at this point, well, they should just be composted, because they're not quite human. Or were they too busy counting the money rolling in from the new customers? buglady take out the dog before replying |
