Melamine in Chicken Feed
No recall because the chickens have already been slaughtered. If you did
not realize immediated that this was bound to affect the human food chain, this is your wake-up call. -- Lars Eighner http://larseighner.com/ http://myspace.com/larseighner Countdown: 630 days to go. Going to the Olympics? Hope you like melamine! |

What do you put in your homemade chicken feed? I'd like to do it myself
too...I usually feel better using my homegrown stuff, since I know that nothing but what nature intended is in it. |

Good for you. Not eveyone has that luxury or time. |

Melamine in Chicken Feed
"Rocky" wrote in message: That's an odd statement. Having once worked with harvesting meat chickens, I'd hardly consider raising poultry to be a luxury. While raising poultry might not be a luxury, having the facilities, living situation, money, etc. might be. A lot of people live in places where there are ordinances against keeping livestock of any sort, or live in apartments/townhouses where the yard space is just not there. Suja |

I mentioned this to my mother, and she said the brand we buy, it's 'local',
meaning the ingredients are grown and processed in this area(well actually the next county over, but close enough), so hopefully it's ok. |

: I take issue, however, with those who contend that being able to keep livestock is luxury. But what could be more luxurious than a ramshackle chicken coop and a bunch of squawking chickens? Don't forget searching for eggs, mucking out, feeding, protecting from intruders. Now that's what I call the lap of luxury! And the lifestyle just becomes more elegant the larger the livestock! Nothing against chickens, I rather like them, and fresh eggs are enjoyable... -- Catherine & Zoe the cockerchow & Queenie the black gold retriever & Max the pomeranian & Rosalie the calico cat |
