Unless one of you is on-line right now, I'll probably have already made up
my mind but..........

Do you have any experience with the Colonial Vet Hospital - out by the
Pyramid Mall? This is the 24 hour care place that my vet would send us to
with Sassy. I don't know anything about it other than that.

Thanks,
Judy

I think Chris uses it. It's very well-regarded, and other
local vets refer patients there for stuff they can't do
themselves. I have a friend who's taken her dog up there
for several ACL surgeries, for example.

I've managed to reach a couple of friends in the area. They all speak very
highly of it - but primarily their experience is orthopedic.

I think I'm going to take that as enough of a recommendation. We're on our
way to pick up Sassy at the vet and head for Ithaca.

Thanks,
Judy

From everything I've heard she'll be in excellent hands.
And they have a therapeutic swimming thingie, so when she's
fully recovered she can have an afternoon at the spa.

All fingers and paws crossed for Sassy.

How nice for her! But I doubt they'll convince her that water is a good
thing.

I do feel better for having taken her there. They were starting some
treatments overnight to settle her stomach.

The good news is that she had thrown up all day at the other vet's. So they
were going to wait to see if perhaps that particular medication wasn't
necessary.

Depending on how she did overnight, they may do an ultrasound at some point
today. That will tell them if there is pancreatitis or an intestinal
blockage. Or if she's on the mend this morning then we can assume that it
was some sort of gastritis that has passed.

Either way, she's almost certainly there for another night. But I am more
encouraged after talking with the vet there.

I have nothing helpful to add. I just wanted to say that I hope
Sassy is okay, and I've been thinking good thoughts about her. I'm
glad you found a good place for her to be overnight, if for no other
reason than that that's what you seem to be more comfortable with.
Even just a little extra peace of mind helps.

Glad to know that she is in experienced hands 'round the clock. Most
important with some of the possible nasties.
