What do you put in your Kong?
I want to fill up the smallest size Kong toy with something that's lower
in fat and calories than the canned Kong "stuff". What would you suggest? Thanks, Amy |

Thanks, Amy There are a number of things that you can freeze in on, although where they get eaten can be an issue (outdoors, crate, dog bed = good, human bed, carpeting, etc = bad!). You can mush up dog food, spoon in low or non fat yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, etc. Put the kong in a dixie cup (or a small glob of PB in the hole at the tip as well), fill and freeze. -- Janet Boss www.bestfriendsdogobedience.com |

Low-sodium meat broth! Or even veggie broth. I tried your idea of making ice cubes, but with homemade veggie instead of meat broth. Salt free, too. They have been a *big* hit. -- Shelly http://cat-sidh.net (the Mothership) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

She likes ice cubes even a little more than dog biscuits. Peanut's never figured out what the other dogs like about them, though. Fidget used to try to save his for later. Which wouldn't have been so bad but sometimes he hid them under the sofa cushions. -- Kevin Michael Vail | Dogbert: That's circular reasoning. * | Dilbert: I prefer to think of it as no loose ends. |
