Default camping - pet friendly style

I haven't frequented this group in a few years, but I do recall some of the
names in here.

Chloe is my mountain curr (or lab mix as other's view her) rescue that is
now about 5 yrs old. We have taken her on camping trips in the past -
usually 5 to 7 day trips. This year we are going for 2 weeks. (in a
popup).

Last fall we did a week in the popup in the Fl Keys and Chloe came along for
the journey. Half way thru the trip we boarded her for 2 days while we did
a couple of long - non pet friendly - days of diving and doing the Dry
Tortugas. When we got her out of the kennel, all she wanted to do was go
home, she was not much of a happy camper for the last two days of our trip,
and that caused us to have to keep extra close eyes on her when people would
stop by for friendly visits.

This summer we are going for 2 weeks in the mountains. I've been checking
around for doggy day cares, but can't find any so I'm going to call around
to some of the vets in the area and see about possible last minute boarding,
should we need to. As a family vacation we are going to do alot of hiking
and we also want to do some mountain biking. While Chloe can join us when
hiking, she can't with mountain biking.

I'm looking for any tips and tricks to making a good family and pet friendly
popup camping vacation for the whole family including Chloe.

HOLY COW! Chloe looks just like my Roxy!! Chloe is one of the most
beautiful dogs I've ever seen.

Roxy is 34 lbs and I say she's a Beagle/Hound mix. A breeder here in
Kentucky told me she looks just like a Mountain Cur, so who knows. I just
know she's a wonderful combination of everything I could ask for in a dog,
including beauty (or perhaps love really is blind?). I swear they look
like litter mates. Roxy just doesn't have the white on her chest.

Your vacation sounds wonderful. I hope you find a good solution for Chloe
during the non-dog activities. My only suggestion is to perhaps make those
non-dog activities half day events if possible and spread them out so that
Chloe doesn't have such long periods of separation and boredom. Of course
she might have the same reaction she did last time, but I suspect half a
day of boarding here and there, or even a full day (but not overnight) will
be less stressful for her than consecutive days and overnight(s). I hope
it goes well for you all and that Chloe has a better time this time.

Chloe is 5! And Zoe is 5! I remember you and Chloe!

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you, but I'll be interested in the
other answers. Just wanted to say hi!
