Default Cesar's Illusion Collar

From a link on Linda Kaim's website
http://www.lionheartk9.com/about.html.html to Cesar Millan's
http://www.dogpsychologycenter.com/, I found this page, which includes a
Flash Player clip promoting his new collar design.

http://cesarmillan.securesites.net/index.php?cPath=76

The clip shows a woman being dragged behind her dog using a regular flat
collar, and then easily walking the same dog using the new collar, which is
designed to keep the controlling portion high on the neck. However, I think
it was "staged" so that the opposition reflex would be maximized in the
"before" scene, and the "after" scene shows very subtle collar pops which
may be more important than the collar design itself. And it is very likely
that the dog and handler are actually well trained to elicit both types of
behavior.

If nothing else, the collar appears to be well made and safe, with ample
surface area on the neck to reduce chance of injury. But the ad seems to
promote it as a "magic bullet" that can instantly produce LLW.

You make a lot of assumptions about a lot of stuff you have no actual
knowledge of or experience with.

I know from experience that allowing a training collar to fall down
low on a dog's neck will lessen its effectiveness. For folks who do
not know how to jerry-rig a mangled prong collar into an engineering
masterpiece, the Illusion collar may be a worthwhile tool.

I have one. They are cheaply made and highly priced. A fine idea, but
way overpriced for what it is.
