Default Corgi's on the bed

Pirate can't get up on our bed without help. You see a flash of ears and
feet and then you hear a thump as he hits the floor . So we need to get
something to help him up.

But our bedroom is very small. I dont' think it will support a big set of
doggie steps.

I was thinking of an ottoman. I'll bet you I could find a nice ottoman
somewhere for not too expensive.

the other idea is to craft some sort of crate/step combo out of wood with a
carpet finish. My husband is a carpenter and could build this in his sleep,
but i know it will take a while for him to get started because he is anal
retentive that way.

other suggestions?

Ottoman is good. Probably available at a second hand shop, too.

other suggestions?

A firm sofa seat cushion (from a defunct sofa, but you could
probably find one at an upholstery shop) sufficed for our
chihuahuas for several years, until they got old and arthritic
enough that we didn't want them jumping OFF the bed. It had the
advantage that you could slide it under the bed when it wasn't in
use.

its a pretty tall bed, so maybe not tall enough. But might be worth a try.
Free experiment!

Beth, I am not sure how high your bed is and how much spring, Pirate has
in his step, but how about an inverted milk crate for now. I know it
may not go with your decor It also will likely need to be placed away
from your bed a bit and secured somehow, just a thought....

When Moogli was little, and hadn't figuredo ut how to get up, I kept and
old woolen sock by my side of the bed. If he got off the bed (or was pushed
off the bed), I would throw downt he sock, he would bite it and do a sort
of reverse-rappel up the side of the bed.

Definitely -- our corgi-terrier mix is too long to use the one-step
footstool, although she uses this one okay:

LOL. Pirate is a bit too heavy in the butt for this method but thank you for
the mental picture.

Hm. I don't know how small is very small but Taffy can't get up on
mine either. I've got a cedar chest at the end of the bed with a
quilt on it for purchase and that's what she propels herself up on first,
then the bed. But the cedar chest doesn't slide under the bed.

I've seen some fairly nice designs with the steps going up, then
around so as to make for a fairly small footprint in small rooms.
(I'm not grasping the word I want at the moment.)

other suggestions?

How about one of those plastic non-skid footstools? Perhaps two
put together? They're light and have the advantage of stacking
to put away during the day.
I'm thinking with his longer body he may need two of them to
negotiate his way up.

We have two for monk - Different heights though. Maybe we can try it.
Thanks!
