Good Morning:
If you can call Town Lake Animal Center and place a rescue hold on this dog and
the pup (please see the paragraphs below) as soon as possible she would
greatly appreciate it. Town Lake NO LONGER notifies rescue groups when an
animal will be killed, and this animal WILL be killed because no one will ever
see her in rabies observation. Her entry into TLAC was a guaranteed death
sentence. If there is any way you can take this dog and the pup, please,
please call immediately. Town Lake has a very large issue with
disorganization, confusion, missing inventory and killing an animal before the
due date without notice, and for "times/space"
Please note: She does NOT have a bite history.
TLAC PHONE: 512-972-4738, 512-972-6045. You may need to ask for the rescue
coordinator. When calling TLAC you will need to give the animal number in the
lower paragraph that begins with A. You may also need to remind them that the
dog is only in rabies observation because had a pup with her when she was
brought in (and RO is where these combinations are housed, even if they do NOT
have a bite history)
If you can put a hold on them and can't pick them up for a couple of days, and
If you will give Town Lake permission if they need it, I will --- IF MY VAN IS
RUNNING -- pick them up. They could be housed in a 20 x 20 room in my garage
with two caged, 6 month old feral female cats. I would only be able to do
this for 2 or 3 days, as I anticipate receiving 2 more stray cats who are
DECLAWED (lets hope not on the back feet, too!).
Sincerely,
Michelle
URGENT! URGENT! Dane/hound mix in RO needs rescue
ID 330514 Pen 914
Female Dane mix ~ 5 yr
Kill date Sunday 12/7.
I would like to get the word out about a dog that is being held in RO (rabies
observation) Pen 914 at TLAC. I work with Catahoula rescue and we were
contacted about a female dog #A330514 at TLAC. She was picked up as a stray on
Wed. 12-3-03, and has an approximately 8 week old puppy with her. One of the
rescue coordinators at TLAC contacted Catahoula Rescue about this dog because
she is merle. However, she is not a catahoula and probably not a catahoula mix.
She looks to be a Dane/hound mix.
This poor girl has NO chance.
Because she has the puppy (A330513 - male) with her, she is being held behind
locked gates in RO where no one, neither rescues nor adopters, can see her
unless they ask to be escorted to RO. She is not there because of any bite
history, just simply because that's where they put some of the dogs that have
young puppies with them. Dogs in RO have absolutely no chance. They are not
seen by the public, and their pictures are NOT on the internet. I have taken it
upon myself to let other rescue groups know about her. I was able to get a
couple of pictures of her

(no spaces) if you can not see those photos}
This dog's due out date is Sunday 12-7-03. If she doesn't have rescue interest
Friday, she will most likely be killed on Sunday.
If you are an approved TLAC rescue and there is anything you can do to help
this dog, please contact the TLAC and ask to have a rescue hold placed on this
girl #A330514. That doesn't mean that you would have to pick her up today, but
it would allow you some time to try and find some help for this dog.
Thank you
