Wyoming County (NY) SPCA in danger of closing Please help!
The Wyoming County SPCA is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization relying
solely on donations. This Beautiful handmade quilt has been donated by Barb Mattern to benefit the animals at the Wyoming County SPCA in New York. The SPCA is in danger of closing if funds are not raised. Here is the local news story on the Wyoming County SPCA: http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_articl...?storyid=50655 Here is a bigger picture of the quilt they are raffling with an animal theme: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1382/...6fb34895_o.jpg The Raffle will be held on December 22 2007 and tickets are on sale now. Tickets a One - $1 Three - $2 A book of fifteen - $10 These tickets are available at all events for the SPCA or you can call the shelter at 585-591-3114 or 585-343-3737 to obtain tickets. You can also email the Wyoming county SPCA regarding tickets at info[at]wcspca.net Also, their mailing address is: 808 Creek Road. Rt. 98 PO Box 151 Attica NY 14011 Thanks so much! Please understand, this organization means a lot to me. I don't want to see this no-kill shelter close their doors. Please forward this email to anyone you would know that would be interested in buying tickets/donating to them or post on your blogs. The more the word about them gets out, then they will less likely to close forever. If you don't want to buy tickets you can make a donation. Their paypal link is on their webpage. http://www.wcspca.net Thank you! Christine -- West Seneca NY |

Unless there is severe triage and you only accept adoptable pets, which still results in the same event for those you do not accept. So in essence, by rejection selection, you just aren't accepting responsibility for those that DO end up dead. And if you are in danger of closing because of poor triage practices, and keeping long term care pets, the reality strikes home than in essence, closing the doors will result in these unfortunates deaths. Do not take in anything but quickly (and cheaply) adoptable pets so there is a fast turn over, and your solvency issues will evaporate. It sounds as if your issues are far greater than anything a quilt raffle will solve. it seems to be a reality issue instead. Good luck with that. I'm in support of rescue but in order to make it happen REALITY and strict selection just has to happen. |

The Shelter has been NO KILL since 1905.
Thanks for your opinions but this is not a new shelter. It is one that is in danger of closing. If you can donate money, that would be fabulous since that was the point of the post. To gain publicity for the shelter around the country instead of just in the small town.
