Default why do dogs yawn when they're nervous?

Anyone know why dogs yawn when they are nervous? I'm interested in
this as a biological phenomenon, in addition to a behavioral one.
Since science hasn't yet figured out why people yawn, I think there
might be something to learn in why dogs do it under totally different
circumstances.

Thoughts?

========
I don't know, but maybe when dogs are nervous and uptight they don't breath
properly, thus not taking in enough oxygen, and the yawn draws oxygen into
the body. For some reason, that I can't explain, I start yawning, if I
have passed my normal meal time without eating.
