My family and I are interesting in finding a basset as a pet. My
children are 13 and 9 and really want a pet. I was searching through
the internet looking for a breeder of the Basset Blue De Gascogne or
the Basset Artesian Normand with no luck. We have decided that we
would look for a traditional Basset. I'm sure all bassets are
wonderful and wanted to know would anyone be able help locate a
breeder in Virginia. We really would like to visit and talk with a
breeder prior to making up our mind that a basset is the right dog for
us as a family.

Wonderful idea! It's always a great idea to chat with breeders about
their breed. If they are responsible breeders, they will show you the
pros and the cons of their breed to help you decide.

Hi Steve, We acquired a Basset French Artesian Normand a month ago.
She is a 2 year old and weighs around 36 pounds. I walk her on a leash
as I'm afraid she'd find a scent and be gone. She is very friendly and
loving. We live in Wisconsin but found her in Minnesota. We also have
two older labs and we all take walks together. Bassets are such nice
pets, especially if there are children. Alyce
