Default ointment

Hello,

i have an 18 mo shitzu (daisy)and 24 mo lasa-apso(max). MAx has a
cherry eye and i use B.N.P. With Hydrocortisone Triple Antibiotic Opth
ointment that i apply to his eye.

Daisy somehow got ahold of the tube after i medicated the max and has
ingested half of the tube. im obviously concerned and am wondering if
this will in any way harm her, it's late to call a vet but i will
first thing tomorrow morning and am just hoping someone can read this
and advice.

thanks
Sergio and Cristy...

I have no idea, but if you are worried, the ASPCA has a (not free!)
poison control number you can call. According to their website, "A
$55 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card."

My local and expensive 24 hour emergency vets have been
willing to give free advice on the phone (albeit relayed
through the office assistant) the two times I've called them.
So that's another avenue.

Sergio: Even if your vet's office is closed, they probably
have a phone number on their answering machine message for a
24 hour vet. Give them a call.

Having been down this road, I will point out that the fee is per case,
not per call, and covers all subsequent consultations by the owner and
the vet with poison control. For the incident that we had (dog got
into a bottle containing tylenol and aleve), it was by far the least
expensive part of the whole experience, and well worth the peace of
mind.
