I hate all the bickering over what to name Kali's pups. Therefore, to
bring peace and to do y'all a favor, *I'm* naming the puppies. TD, tell your daughter that the following are the puppies' temporary names until they go to their forever homes and the new owners can call them whatever they wish. Erkigsinek (Erky) Hoss Mirabelle (Mir) Paco Schweitzer Splotch If Gen's baby turns out to be a girl, the 6th puppy may be named Olivier. If Gen's baby is a boy, the puppy should be named Sophie. --Lia |

A multinational approach seems entirely appropriate for a litter of unknown parentage. g FurPaw -- "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." - Dwight D. If you can't tell a noun from a verb in a particular language it's probably best to avoid it completely - stay away from those embarrassing embarrassments (like tattoos that you think say "Peace to the planet" and actually say "I will lick your toes for a dollar"). -- Melinda Shore - Software longa, hardware brevis - Prouder than ever to be a member of the reality-based community |

So that leaves one of the darker colored brown pups, male, and the two light brown & white spotted ones, both females. Will, of course, forward your list of suggestions to my daughter though. ;-) I suggested aurora (beaurealis), for one of the light brown spotted pups, but my daughter hates aurora. Someone she worked with named her kid aurora. Another of my suggestions was Thunder, for the other male, since she likes Storm for the only other male dog. As for the bickering, unless someone has *helpful* suggestions, I pretty much ignore it, consider the source. If the organization that is sponsering the pups would like us to choose what I'll refer to as *cold/alaska/winter-type/eskimo* names for the pups, that's fine by us. Most likely anyone who adopts a pup will change it's name anyway. The only one that will definitely be a keeper, name-wise, is the black one if my daugher keeps her. That's the way things are leaning and have been since the start, that the black one was the *keeper*. Were it up to me, I'd have named the two males *Simon & Garfunkle* ;-] td |

I know Tuck thinks he's any one of about 2 dozen names and answers them all, including Hey YOU! Why not have fun with it? |

I agree, that's why I don't understand the hostility from the shrew, I mean, shore. They are puppies, cute as little buttons, healthy, chubby, and well cared for. That their names are a source of antagonism and hostility boggles my mind. td |

It's easy to call yourself a good person. But when push comes to shove, you resort to sexist insults and racist stereotypes. It's not what you say, it's what you do.
