Default help identifying our mix?

Hello, I thought we could get some input on what breeds might have
gone into our mix-breed dog. She is a love, but whenver we take her
to the vet they are wary of her, because they think she is either part
Chow (because of her color, golden-red, and her blackish tongue) or
part Basenji (because of her size and shape and color), and I guess
both breeds are known for nasty temperments. But she barks like a
regular dog (though not often!), not like a Basenji, and she's not the
least bit nasty or grumpy or destructive--in fact, she loves everyone
and is friendly to a fault, stopping on walks to say hello to people
who pass by.

Does anyone know if there are other breeds out there with blackish
tongues? What about wrinkled brows? Her brows wrinkles up when she's
interested in something. She looks kind of like a shorter-haired
Shiba Inu. Mostly she looks like a red fox.

Thanks,
Arielle
