We already have a female 2 year old dog that is a mix of doberman,
beagle, chow, and terrier. We wanted to get a new puppy that was born
around christmas time and was a mix of a cocker spaneil and a sheltie.
We have a choice between a male and a female puppy and didn't know
which one would get along better with the dog we already have. We also
didn't know if the 2 year old dog we already have is considered an
adult yet and how old do dogs have to be to be an adult. Thank you so

A male puppy is a better bet. While 2 bitches can be fine together,
they are often not. I assume the older one is spayed?

HEH! That's a million dollar question. Very dependent on breed,
individual, etc. If you ask my 2 yo Golden, he'll tell you "*I* am the
puppy!". Some dogs mature faster than others Even so, your dog is
physically an adult. I can't speak to mentally.
