Rusty Einstein
One evening a thunderstorm kept hovering above us. We live on a ridge
surrounded by valleys. They add to each thunderclap a chain of echoes which try to give dog Rusty a heart attack. He hopped on my bed that evening shaking all over. I held him tight to keep his bones together. Each thunder made him wince, then howl because the end was nigh. A lightning was indicated by a short dip in the light of my reading lamp - followed within seconds by thunder. Very quickly, Rusty had figured out the connection between the dimming of the light and the awfulness that followed. And he changed his habit. He now howled and shook when the light went down, and became fatalistic about the thunder. I am utterly amazed that a dog in less than half an hour could understand the logic of cause and effect. Greetings - Klaus and Rusty www.rent-a-cloud.com Free Nature Cards and Clips |
