Default How to find home for dog (and avoid fighting / lab testingsituations) ?

My neighbor moved and I agreed to take his dog. It is a friendly lab/
pit/terrier mix and now has his shots and been neutered. He is house/
leash/kennel trained.

I put an ad on Pet Finder, and I am getting strange responses. People
from places like Washington and New York. I don't want to sell the
dog into some kind of dog fighting or lab testing situation.

Any advice ?
