I picked up Dodman's 'The Dog Who Loved Too Much' (1996) at a library sale,
in which he talks a bit about storm phobic dogs, and how many of them seem
to seek shelter in the sink/tub/shower or otherwise try to get
in/around/near water. I was wondering if Harvey has ever exhibited any
behavior like this. He goes on to conclude that he believed electrical
discharge to somehow play a part in the phobia, and that grounding the dog
or somehow allowing static electricity to be discharged might be helpful. I
have no idea if the theory has been pursued/furthered/abandoned since, but
thought of Harvey as I was reading, and wondered if that is something that
might help him out.

First off hope Harv is doing better, I've been following but not posting for
a bit. )

Boo, our black lab gal, who has been terrified of 'boom booms', always
prefers to be in the bathroom, either in or around the tub.
Perhaps we should take a survey.....may not find out conclusively but it may
add to 'Dodman's' theory...

Atty hides in closets and behind furniture. She also digs in corners. I've
tried to coax her into the bathtub (even put her kennel pad in it), but she
won't have any of it (and she loves baths - jumps in happily normally )- so
I didn't want to make her think ill of the bath tub and associate it with
storms.
