I picked up Dodman's 'The Dog Who Loved Too Much' (1996) at a library sale, in which he talks a bit about storm phobic dogs, and how many of them seem to seek shelter in the sink/tub/shower or otherwise try to get in/around/near water. I was wondering if Harvey has ever exhibited any behavior like this. He goes on to conclude that he believed electrical discharge to somehow play a part in the phobia, and that grounding the dog or somehow allowing static electricity to be discharged might be helpful. I have no idea if the theory has been pursued/furthered/abandoned since, but thought of Harvey as I was reading, and wondered if that is something that might help him out. Suja |

Perhaps we should take a survey.....may not find out conclusively but it may add to 'Dodman's' theory... Mare and Da SmiffDen |

I've tried to coax her into the bathtub (even put her kennel pad in it), but she won't have any of it (and she loves baths - jumps in happily normally )- so I didn't want to make her think ill of the bath tub and associate it with storms.
