Default Raw food

Hello all.

I am new to this group and see that there have been some posting about
feeding dogs raw dog food.
I would like to say that I have boxers ( 2 of them but one I think is
a moose lol ) and I have been feeding them raw since I got them.

I have grown to love the raw dog food although the smell at times from
the food and from the dogs is not the best but I know how wonderful it
is for the dogs so I will put up with some smells.

I love everything that the raw food has to offer the dogs so much that
I have started a small home based business.
I am selling ground up organ meat, ground up fruit and veggies and
yogurt.

I am in Andrew Alberta, but I make runs down to Calgary. People that
live closer to me come and buy from me. My customers have said that
their dogs LOVE my organ meat more then any other that they have had
and that makes me feel really good knowing that I am helping in the
quality of food for other dogs not only my own.

I hope that I am not being to forward here but if anyone in the area
would like to set up a delivery schedule with me please do so and
email me privately at

.

Thank you all for your time and here is to good health for our
babes

You're in my area and I've actually been investigating prepared
raw food. I used to feed Mountain Dog to one of my dogs but
after looking at it carefully, I discontinued its use. The
brands I like are simply too expensive.

Anyway, I'm in your market area and actively investigating such
foods. You've made my search a little bit easier by letting me
take you off my short list (And before I ever heard of you!). I
refuse to buy anything from spammers, especially those who spam
the health group.

I am not spamming a health group. I was told that I should come into
a few of the groups and let people know
what I am selling. I do not like people that spam. I get way to many
email in my in box from them and it drives
me nuts. I was not totally sure how to get out and let people know
about what I do and was told to try this type of form.

Maybe I was blind or stupid by doing this but I believe in having a
very healthy choice for our dogs. I have got quite a few
customers from this type of form and the more people that I can help
with providing a healthy choice for their dog then the better.

I am not trying to bother anyone. Just trying to inform. That is
all.

I to know what you say about Mountain dog. My dogs did like it in the
beginning but then they started to use to much alpha as a filler
and now my guys will not even look at it. I do beef and ground
chicken for them. Sometime they get wild game or bison also. They
love that.

Anyway have a nice day.

.......Matt, do you know of CalgaryRaw - a Coop?
http://calgaryraw.com/index.html

There's also a list of raw food products here. You probably already know of
them:

You were misinformed about how to sell your product. You are spamming a
health discussion group.

Well I do have to apologizes to you all then. I have talked with other
members and was told that they truly did appreciate me posting a
message like this. In no means did I ever think that I was spamming a
groups. So sorry. I have sent out a few message on a few groups
that I am members of. The ad in paper did not work and the postings
at a few stores did not work as well. Posting a message to a few
groups have paid off more then I would of ever though.

I wish you all the best of luck and success with your animals.

If someone told you they were a "member" they lied to you.
There's no such thing.

and was told that they truly did appreciate me posting a

I don't. I also take it as a sign that the "business" is
circling the drain and unlikely to be around at this time
next year, another reason not to get involved with them.

As Melinda said, there are no members here. What we have are
dog owners who are concerned about their dogs' health. And
there's the rub: Your advertising clogs up the pipeline of
information. I've seen some newsgroups in which advertising
outnumbers on-topic discussion; chicken and egg.

In no means did
I ever think that I was spamming a groups. So sorry. I
have sent out a few message on a few groups that I am

I also run a small pet-related business which, by its nature,
is restricted to a specific locale. Word of mouth works best.
Spamming your stuff to the world doesn't seem effective.

In your situation, I'd be setting up and manning a booth at
local dog events. For example, my agility group puts on
trials 3 or 4 times a year which each draw about 100
competitors. Many handlers feed raw. There is no charge -
captive audience, free space.

There are plenty of such trials in Alberta - all you have to
do is get in touch with the trial committee. Usually all
vendors are welcome, but this depends on space and if there's
a sponsoring vendor of a similar product.

Here are the upcoming agility trials in Alberta:
http://www.trainingtroop.rocky-dog.c...ta_trials.html

My group is putting on a one day cancer fundraiser this coming
Saturday in Olds (the first time we've taken our trials on the
road). If you're passing by, drop by. I'd honestly be happy
to meet you and help your business in any way I can.

Posting a message to
a few groups have paid off more then I would of ever
though.

Good for you, but I wouldn't base a business plan on the
clientele which world-wide spam engenders.

I wish you all the best of luck and success with your
animals.

Jodie

Unfortunately, whoever told you that you could advertise on newsgroups
was DEAD WRONG.

If you Google for the FAQ called "Advertising on Usenet: How to do it,
how not to do it" you will find helpful information. (Key pieces of
data -- DO NOT advertise on any group that doesn't have a suffix
..marketplace, and if you are going for awareness, put business-card-type
copy in a signature file and just participate and develop a good
reputation that will trickle into your business.)

If you Google for "Boulder Pledge," you will find out why you have
alienated your potential target audience.

This is Usenet (Google for Usenet to find out what that means). This is
not a mailing list, and there are no members.
