You could try MaxCal - it's a high-calorie prescription dog food.
My very finicky chihuahua ate it after turning her nose up at
several other foods.

Or try topping the meat or chicken with a good, smelly cheese
(cheddar, parmesan...). Or pour a little melted cheese over it.
Or a little melted butter or (a very little) bacon grease.

Another thing that it's said that dogs love (haven't tried it) is
canned tripe, available most likely in specialty pet stores. I'm
told that it stinks to high heaven.

Do you mix the pills in with the dog's food? Chile got pill-wise
and stopped eating any foods that had previously been served with
crushed pills. So I had to resort to pushing the pills down her
throat, a procedure that neither she nor I enjoy. But now she
will eat some foods that she had previously refused.

I hope something here helps.

That is some situation you have there. It sounds like you are a good
animal lover. I too dont always have the funds, try not to let the
guilt of that eat you up. I will say a prayer for you and your dogs
problem. Take care, Judy
