Riding with the world's fasted sleddog team
[]
I don't know how interested people are in this sort of thing, but Buddy Streeper just recently posted a musher's eye view of a training run behind 18 dogs, breaking 20 mph. He's got what's currently considered to be the world's fastest open class sprint team and they're just amazing to watch in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chN7WdlZ3JY -- Melinda Shore - Software longa, hardware brevis - Prouder than ever to be a member of the reality-based community |

Their stamina and speed is incredible to me. Do any of the dogs in the rear ever fall down and then get dragged? Do they really love to run that long and that hard? What does the whistle mean to the dogs? How often do they stop to refresh? Do they get a drink of water everytime they stop? |
