Lucy's labs are back and her BUN and Urine SG are perfectly normal.
They were off back in September and we switched her to canned food only
(CA Natural rather than Purina NF). I'm so glad that we don't have to
get the prescription food and this is working for her!

Marcie is home from her spay. Sleeping on my bed, she's obviously glad
to be home but sore. She will get total pampering the next week or so!

not yet and hopefully not at all. I have the luxury of being able to
spend time home with her though, which is a huge factor. I have collars
if needed, but I doubt they will be. I hate them and so do dogs!

Glad she's back with you!

When Harriet was spayed, the vet didn't give me a collar. She said that
her experience was that unlike boys, girls usually leave their
speutering incisions alone. That was exactly my experience, with a
sample size of one boy and one girl.

I think abdomen is a little harder to reach with comfort for one thing!

She was having a little trouble pooping, and I'm sure that will correct
itself, but I think she'll get some pumpkin added for the next few days
to keep things a little easier on her.

Not for pretzel dog. Bendy dog is bendy.

Good idea. I also found that Harriet peed a *lot* the first few days
after her spay. She had complications, though, so I don't know if
that's normal.

My Lady was just the opposite way, where Buddy never touched his. I told
the vet that before Lady came out of anesthesia to get a collar on her.
They didn't listen and between the time she called me (30 min) to say she
was ready to go home and the time it took me to get there to pick her up she
had worked her incision open. Of course she had to stay over night so they
could clean it up and stitch her shut again this time using wire to close
the incision.

She wore a collar at home for the first 4 days after that I took it off and
she left the incision alone.
