Elegy,
I know you are speaking of Luce and her vicious killer pit bull jaws
of dqqm humorously but it brings about a behavioral question for my
situation.
I have previously mentioned Jubal Early and his past dog aggression.
He is a changed dog since Buck is gone. He is clearly the alpha dog but
he defers to the new pup about so many things. I wonder is it because
she is a female? Is it because she is a pup? I don't ever leave Jubal
Early and Jack unattended but I feel as if I could. Jack is totally
submissive and that suits Jubal Early just fine.
He allows Chica to take over Larry's chair when he is not in it. He
allows Chica the prime spot in bed. (sometimes he won't get in bed until
she is out). He does get huffy about toys and food but when I recall
how he used to behave he has since turned into Mr. Mellow. Chica just
pushes him to no end. She knows no fear.
Chica is clearly on the path to being a dominant female. Lady is not
an issue to her as Lady spends most of her time sleeping. Chica and
Jack have the grandest time playing as do Chica and JE
I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Be Free.....Judy
