Elegy,
At least when the toy goes down in flames minutes later it is not
quite as painful as when you paid 11.99 for the same damn toy imo.

My latest toys from Big Lots were sporting a Booda label and only 3.00
each. I bought two. One for Chica and one for Jubal Early. They were
purple bears in a nylon net bag. The head and limbs were attached to
the body by velcro.
They had a squeaker in the belly.

The end results were not what I expected from either dog. JE
accidentally bumped the head or a limb off and just sat there with it in
his mouth like he didn't know what to do. (his squeaker was broken).

Chica ripped hers apart like she would any other toy. What the hell
is velcro?

I expected the reverse would have happened.

I bought some children's toys from the dollar store for 25 cents each.
They are a variety of animals from pigs to kitties. They make the
appropriate sounds to go with each animal. He can pick out some of them
from the basket. I tell him to get the pig or which one goes oink and
he will pick it out. Same with the cow and the lamb. Needless to say
we don't play with the kitty. He is so funny. He won't "off" them for
anything. I tell him they are our "friends". That is the magic word
for don't harm or destroy it. He reminds me of Tuck when he is
retrieving the appropriate animal from the pile. It seems like
something Tuck could handle with ease.

Chica is not allowed to play with those toys. She is a puppy.
Puppies can't play with toys!!

I also nabbed a couple of dogs that say "kibbles and bits" among the
stuffed toys. Ahh that was a bargain day. I got a laundry basket full
for 4.00 or 5.00.

How charming! Jubal Early sounds like a wonderful, kind dog...
