Default Dog Barking

Late for class once is something I would try
to help a student through. I'd spend extra
time with them, during *and* after class to
make sure they were clear on what was
expected, and on what they had missed.

But if it was consistent? Pfft. Keep up or
get out. At that point, the lateness is
dragging everyone else into the chaos, and
the other students just resent it....as does
the teacher. Its disruptive and
disrespectful. When it's every week (or even
nearly every week), it's nothing more than
sucking time and energy out of everyone else
in class, student and teacher alike.

You bet. People are late sometimes. Life happens. Generally, they
tend to be really apologetic and humble. Chronic problem people are
another story altogether.
