I've posted before about Peanut's aversion to having his picture taken,
and I might have mentioned that he doesn't like to be around
flashlights, but this is the weirdest thing yet. The exit sign over the
stairway door across the hall from my apartment is about to go out, and
it's flickering.
However, Peanut does *not* like it. The first time I noticed it was
yesterday afternoon, when I took him out...I opened the apartment door
and he started out, then froze and didn't want to go any further. I
coaxed him out and he scooted around the corner toward the elevator as
quickly as he could, where he didn't directly see it...but then he kept
turning around to glance furtively in that direction until the elevator
arrived, as if he were expecting *something* to follow us.


Many dogs are uneasy about having their photo taken as they don't like the
camera "staring" at them and can feel threaten by it . Peanut has
associated the flash of the camera with the unease/ fear he feels when
having his photo taken and that has generalised to the light flashing in
the hall. When he sees the flashing light, he feels the same fear as he
does when having his photo taken and he has become phobic and panic
stricken.
