Last update on American Eskimo
Hi,
Some good news, for those that have been following my posts. As you may recall Bear had to go back to the foster home. Luckily he has been adopted by an older, retired, couple that know his background and are able to provide the quiet environment that he needs. They can also spend more time with him. They have a large fenced yard so he's enjoying that. The foster is in a condo and I know Bear missed the yard here. The wife worked with mentally disabled adults ( no he's not being given to a client, once was enough.... ) and seems to understand some of what he went through and is going through. It sounds like they have a lot of patience and are willing to take as long as needed for him to develop. The foster met them on a play date at the local dog park with her full time dog, Josie, and Bear seems to be doing well. They plan on more play dates in the future. Bear actually seemed excited to see Josie, which is a real switch for him. I'm relieved that he found a great home but I still miss him. We plan on getting another rescue later this year. In light of the stepson it's going to have to be a doggy with a few less issues.. :-) I just wanted to thank everyone again for their support in this group. It really helped and the kind words meant a lot to me. Take care, -Jim |
