Default More action shots: Play day #2, snow!, and Cenau weaves

Second play day at my current training group, and a snowy day in the
backyard...As usual, these are public links which don't require a FB
account.
(maybe this time the thread will manage to be about dogs and photography,
rather than personal attacks & political fights... but I ain't holding my
breath.)

Entire album (47 pictures) - some interesting shots of dog interaction; the
dogs are pretty much left to their own devices at the play days. Color
values are a bit odd on some; something about it being a cloudy day threw
things off. As a side note, there are usually 2-4 intact males at these play
days, and it's never an issue. (Point of note: in a FaceBook album you can
simply click anywhere in the picture, and it goes to the next one.)

Selected photos:
Cenau plays with Panzer, who is BC x ??? (guesses welcome G)

More photographic proof that the DSG isn't exclusive to sighthounds...this
pic also gives an idea of Cen's size (or lack thereof) since he's right
next to a tunnel:

Cen "drives" his prey (aka his buddy Titan, who weighs around 60 lbs):
http://www.new.facebook.com/photo.ph...7&id=546997289

Cenau thinks he's still a stud... and Pierce (the GSP in the rear) is
confused (Pierce, who is intact, has a THING for Cen).

Snowy-faced Brenin... most of the "snow" is from the years:
http://www.new.facebook.com/photo.ph...e&id=546997289

Cenau says WAHOO! SNOW!
http://www.new.facebook.com/photo.ph...0&id=546997289

Cen & Bren do zoomies & playfight together. Bren's wide-open mouth is
baying, btw. (Note he's got his teeth covered)
I remain bemused, incidentally, at the fact that Brenin LIKES Cenau better
than any other dog he's lived with.

Cenau does weaves: If you look at this in the album, there's an action
sequence of about 7 shots; the "click for next picture" thing only workes in
there. Note there's only one guide wire on. He doesn't need the wires much
anymore, but periodically I put them on the middle poles so we can do speed
work with minimal complications.

Treat please! (Cen tries out his latest trick.)

And finally, Gwydion's thoughts on snowy days with temps in the 'teens:

Oh my! A weave obstacle course. Guess he won't ever have trouble weaving
in dirt, though I will mention a weird Min Pin thing; white bases on
dark flooring tends to be really distracting for Zipper.

Yep, that's a Pinhead, though he doesn't *quite* have the Pin body. I
can tell you're enjoying him. I never thought I'd be as crazy about a
little dog as I am.

I've been thinking about my next dog (in about 6 or 7 years).
It'll be a pocket dog, much like Zipper or Cen. I'm thinking
Chihuahua.

With a little dog, it doesn't look like you need wires at all
once the path has been worn into the snow.

The snow was very light and fluffy - not much of an obstacle, actually.

though I will mention a weird Min Pin thing; white bases on dark flooring

Hum. We may get to test that before long; his first trial will be at an
indoor soccer arena with relatively dark astroturf.

Yup. The Pin predominates in both looks and personality, although there are
quite a few things that spell JRT as well.

I can tell you're enjoying him.

What was your first clue? G More seriously, yeah, I am. He's a lot of fun
to work with, and he's got a lovely temperament. It's been very satisfying
teaching him how to learn... and now that he's learning, he's so much fun to
teach!

I never thought I'd be as crazy about a little dog as I am.

Thing about the terriers (and as far as I'm concerned, Pins ARE terriers) is
they're small in body only.

I was thinking as I was looking at the pictures that Cen has no
idea that he's just a little guy!

Don't believe everything that you think.

To reply, unleash the dog.

My only caution is that Chihuahuas really *are* tiny. At least if you
get a well-bred one. Many barely make 3# and even jumping 4" is a real
stretch for some. And because they're tiny they have some extra health
issues. Don't get me wrong, I think they're super little dogs, but I'm
not sure I'd pick one for an agility prospect.
