Muttley's vet visit
Today I took Sir Muttley to the vet's for his overdue annual exam and
shots. I gave him 2.5 mG of Diazepam about an hour before, so hopefully he would be a little more relaxed. I know that it can sometimes have a paradoxical opposite effect to make a dog more aggressive, but I gave him a test dose the night before and he just snoozed, which is his normal MO. He was a bit skittish about meeting the new young male assistant, but Muttley was OK about going into the examining room. He kept trying to hide under the chair when the doctor was trying to examine his ears and teeth, but finally we got him to relax and stand still while she gave him two shots, took a blood sample, and also a tissue sample from a wart I discovered on him awhile ago. She said it seemed OK and did not need to be removed. His weight was a pound less than last January, but a little more than his lowest last summer when I was able to provide more exercise for him. Not too bad. So, we were done for the day, but then on our way out of the examining room we encountered a woman holding a cute 14 month old kitten... Paul and Muttley |
