Thinking of getting another dog
Hi,
need advice and help...we currently have a 8 year old female JRT. She has lived with us since she was 12 weeks old. She was fairly social as a pup but over the years she has not been too dog friendly...mainly with other females no matter what size. There are other dogs (mainly males) that she does not seem to have a problem with...we would really like to get another dog and we are thinking of getting a male whippet puppy...I'm just somewhat fearful that the JRT would be too much for that dog...any advice would be greatly appreciated..I'd love to have both dogs ..btw the JRT is an absolute great dog and we love her alot. regards, Deparko |

"Tricia9999" wrote in message ... This is a tough one. Sometimes things are going so well and we upset the apple cart. OTOH, sometimes it adds so much to the fun of the house, that it is a great choice. Obviously, if you get another dog, it has to be a male. I love Whippets and expect to get one (or some sort of sighthound) in the future. I think if you are very careful and supervise carefully, you could do it. Probably depends on how much time you have to devote to the project. Good luck. i've read that whippets have very thin skin that tears easily, so you'd really have to supervise well. JRTs can be dog aggressive, so you'd really have to watch carefully for any tooth-skin contact. -kelly |
