I think all dog lovers enjoy reading stories about dogs. Even if they
have sad endings (not even dogs get to live forever), as this one
does.

I really like Basset hounds, too, and English Bulldogs. Because
of my interests, I doubt that I'll own either. As to Bassets:
there's a hotel in my home town called the Waddling Dog that has
had a Basset on staff for 40+ years - all of the same line, and
all named John.
