His dog articles are, um, interesting.

This New York Times article by him seems to take the Coppingers'
theories to the extreme:

An excellent book to read about dogs in general (he
covers dog intelligence and discusses Dr Corens
intelligence tests), is "The truth about dogs" by
Stephen Budiansky.

It's not a training book but more a study of dogs in
general. It answers all those wee questions (why
do dogs scratch the ground after peeing etc etc)
and is a very informative and excellent study on dogs.

I disagree with his blinkered view on dog training but his documented
research and facts are excellent.

Thanks Matt,
If that's an article how longs the book LOL.
I like the way he writes. It's hard to find something scientific and
readable at the same time.

Hi Paul ,
*but his documented research and facts are excellent.* That
sounds what I'm looking for .
There are many excellent dog books but there seem to less about cats
or maybe I just haven't found then yet.
What sort of view does he have on dog training ?
Alison
