Default 1 yr. old Lab mix refusing to go up stairs

Please bear with me, I am new to this group. I have a 1 year old
female Lab mix who is refusing to go up the stairs. This is a problem
because we live in a tri-level home! She has refused stairs several
times before, but never for more than a few hours--today marks the
second day of this episode. It always happens after she tries to take
the stairs too fast and ends up stumbling and whacking her chin and
her shins on the carpeted steps. She will go down the stairs with no
problem, and has no difficulty with the porch steps (there are only
two). We have tried to nicely coax her to no avail, so I have moved
her water and food bowl to the lower level where she is currently
"stuck". I am trying now to just sort of ignore it, in the hopes that
she will get bored enough down there to want company, and will be
willing to brave the stairs to do it. Any and all suggestions will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nina
