Default Puppy training pads?

Has anyone used the puppy training pads? Do they help in the housebreaking?

I thought so when using the scented ones. It made it clearer to Kali that's
the spot to go. But the same thing can be accomplished by putting a drop of
ammonia in the middle of a pile of newspapers.

However, unless you live in an apartment (or only have access to a site
where lots of dogs go) and cannot take him out until his shots are done,
it's best to start taking them out right away.

I've tried twice. Once the pup used them to line his bed. I kid you not. Carried it over
and laid it inside; he even tucked it in the crevices.

Tried again with another pup and the ones she didn't shred she held between her teeth and
raced around the house with it flying behind her like an flag.
