Big fat Whew! Last night I was convinced that we would have to
put Zeffie down but now the outlook is looking so much better.

Chris, what a terrible scare! But I'm so glad HRH Queen Zeffie seems to be
on the mend.

Thanks for scaring the crap out of me, Chris. I didn't even want to
read this because there's just too much badness going on in these parts,
and I was afraid of even more bad news.

vestibular syndrome (a serious case of vertigo). The happy news is that's
it's a relatively mild case and that she'll most likely make a full
recovery. Big fat Whew! Last night I was convinced that we would have to

Yay! The Queen is fine. Hope she gets back to her normal smoooth self
soon.

Oh.My.God. I'm glad that things are going better. Our whole pack sends
their good thoughts to your pack. Have you had your blood pressure
checked? That would probably put me right over the edge.

Yes it was very scary there for a while. I was sick with dread until I learn
that Zeffie's prognosis wasn't so dire. I'm still a bit jittery about the
whole thing.

I had planned to go with Soren to the New York State Fair today but instead
we're staying home and keeping an eye on Queen Zeffie. She's had a relaxing
time outside this morning and was able to lurch around to various favorite
spots. Every half hour or so I'd go out and check on her to see if she was
thirsty or needed any help. She came inside at noon, had a little snack and
settled down for another nap. She seems to be getting better all the time.
Oh happy happy happy.

What made this so shocking was that Zeffie has been doing so well lately.
For an old dog, she's quite bright and alert. I took her for a walk on
Sunday night and, in a brash show of enthusiasm, she trotted for about 20
feet. Since Zeffie's toe amputation, her preferred speed is at a mosey so I
took this as a sign of well being & high spirits.

Thanks for all the nice posts - it's nice to know that people care about an
old collie they've never met. Perhaps it's 'bout time I get photos of
Zeffie online - so you can glaze upon her royal majesty.

Chris and her smoothies,

How frightening Chris. I am sorry but very glad
she is going to be OK. I hope Zeffie will be better
soon.
