I am the owner of a now 14 weeks old norwegian elkhound named Kita. We
bought a sizable crate to "potty train" with, and during the day we have no
problems. We take her out with the other two dogs atleast 10 times a day,
my wife works from home, and most of the time we have no problems.

The problem happens every night after we go to bed. She is put in the
crate, which is sized so that she has just enough room to turn around and
lie comfortably (as the directions said). Every morning we wake to find
that she has poo'd (deficated) in the crate and she is sleeping in it. She
goes a couple times during the day outside with no problem. We keep her
downstairs with the other two dogs (not crated) and have tried keeping her
in our room (maybe the sound of me snoring will make her feel better) but
to no avail. This morning (it is 1:50am now) she was in her crate for the
night about 30 minutes ago after peeing outside, I walk to the bathroom to
find she had poo'd in the crate.

Now I know that there are alot of people who say not to crate and will
berate me for doing it, thats not what I want to hear, please. For those
that do and have crated, what can I do? Am I doing something wrong? It has
been almost a month and the behavior continues.

Please help!
