Absolutely! There appears to be a certain cachet to having a barking BC
or Aussie. I abhor a barking maniac, and won't tolerate it, in my own
dogs, or dogs in class. I"ve pulled Tazzie off course twice when she's
decided to shriek at me. I got a lot of "well, she's a border collie,
and that's what border collies do, maybe you were late with a command?"
B.S.! It is NOT her place to be shrieking at me. If I make a mistake
in handling, she just needs to suck it up and deal with it. And you
know what? She does.

These are the same people who can teach a lead change on a word cue,
who can teach their dog to go out 30 feet and get a 90 degree weave
entry. They can teach 5 or 6 different types of direction changes. But
they can't teach their dog not to act like an idiot? No, I think they
just don't bother to.

She DOES herd with her dogs, though Melanie may sniff that it's not
"good enough" for her.

Her dogs have titles both as prefixes and suffixes that I don't have a
clue about. And _because I don't know what they are, I"m assuming
they're herding alphabet soup. ;-) I know they compete in trials. I
won't provide a link to the website, because I don't want to be
responsible for the typical usenet sniping that will ensue.
