Subject: The Future Is Now?
From: (J1Boss) Date: Tue, Sep 2, 2003 4:32 PM Message-id: Does that stop me from dreaming of a pet-friendly B&B at the ocean? Not even a little, but alas, I haven't opened it yet either! I have been there done that. I had the first B & B in the 70's in Woods Hole. I only rented to people that had dogs, and mostly liked to rent to guys as they were SO EASY, and cost efficient. I had six bedrooms all with ocean views, and back then I got $20 bucks a night. It was a nice way to make some extra money. I did it for almost ten years. Now if I had it ,I could get easily ten times that nightly. Hope you get to do it someday Janet. It can be very ,very pleasant. especially if you have your own living area and the guests keep to their own spaces. BTW All good thoughts on your operation. Take good care of yourself. Paulette~ |

I seriously contemplated going to a cooking school (degreed culinary institute, not a few cooking classes) several years ago. I took a reality check instead. But it would have been the way to go if I was going to actually pursue the dream of a restaurant. I graduated from the Culinary Institute of American in Hyde Park in March of 1984. If you need more of a reality check and have further questions, let me know. --Lia |

A shame that you are not in the industry now, as it needs good people. What do you do now? If this is too personal please ignore the questions. I am just interested by nature. Paulette~ |
