Revenge Is Best Served Up Warm and Covered With Flies?
A customer today told me that his dog poops on the carpet if he forgets to give
him his goodbye biscuit. He never poops in the house any other time. The other day, his wife was supposed to give him the biscuit and forgot. He pooped on the carpet. I had no answer. Do you? Other than coincidence? Dogs aren't supposed to be able to commit acts of vengeance... :} PetsMart Pet Trainer My Kids, My Students, My Life: http://hometown.aol.com/dfrntdrums/m...age/index.html Last updated June 27 at 10:00 a.m. |

My folks had a Chihuahua who, when yelled at, would head for their bedroom. One night my dad followed him back and caught him in the act of hiking his leg on the bedpost. I think Poco's message was pretty explicit... FurPaw -- Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever. To reply, unleash the dog. |

Its possible though that its not vengence, its that the dog is made anxious by its change in routine. |

snip Its possible though that its not vengence, its that the dog is made anxious by its change in routine. I'd suspect something more along those lines. I don't think they really understand "revenge" as such. But they certainly can get angry and upset! Delphi, when we first got Fancy, used to look for an article of my clothing (never Kip's) and crap on it, then roll it up in a ball and stuff it under the nearest bit of furniture. Did I mention she didn't just crap on it where she found it? Oh no. She'd take it into another room first. It was a little too funny to be upset over. She stopped doing it after a few times. I guess once she realized that wasn't working to make the Big Stupid White Dog go away. -- -Andrea Stone Saorsa Basenjis http://home1.gte.net/res0s12z/ The Trolls Nest - greenmen, goblins & gargoyle wall art www.trollsnest.com |
