When To Start Training a Pup?
We just got an 8 week old Golden puppy - she's a wild child with an attention
span of about 3 seconds. The trainer that we'll be using starts pups between 3 1/2 and 4 months, which is 2 months from now. What do I do in the meantime? We've started on housebreaking, she's started walking (meandering) on a lead and we're doing what we can to control her nipping. When do we start training things like sitting, down, etc.? I ask this because the puppy doesn't seem to have a clue as to who's boss yet (we've had her for a week). Maybe she needs reinforcement via training - maybe sh'e just being an 8 week old puppy. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob |
