There's a man from Quebec named Andre Nadeau who runs
Siberians. He led the 1998 Yukon Quest most of the way and
was considered a complete cipher, both because he was
completely uncommunicative and because he used an unusual
running strategy that put him out of sync with the rest of
the field and consequently he travelled alone for much of
the race. He and his wife claimed that he can't speak
English and that's why he wasn't talking to anyone, but it's
widely suspected that his English isn't actually that bad
and that part of his race strategy was to psych out his
competitors.

He's still running Sibes and does the longer east coast
races, but he's still pretty much of a mystery.
