Default AGAINST BICYCLES!!!???

Hi all!
I have a mix of golden retriever/labrador 2 years old male dog. He is
lovely and we love to take him to countryside and have long walks or going
jogging, but we find that when Jambo sees someone riding on bicycle(or
motorbikes)he goes running towards him/her foot and makes as if he was going
to bite. He hasnt bite anybody at the moment. When we see a bicycle, we make
him play in order to distract him... but I am afraid he is taking this play
as a reward. We sometimes ride on bicycle but he doesnt do this to us.
We dont know whether this is due to a bad experience. He used to be alone
for long periods of time when we both worked, and as we live in a house
surrounded by countryside, where he was free to go around, he could have
experienced something that we dont know.
How could we act when a bicycle comes? I understand it is not good to make
him play when this happens, but what could we do? He is a very active dog
and he needs to run and play and we dont want to take him tied. Thanks a
lot!
