Hello evrybody;
Just found this group. What a find!
I have a boarder collie 5yrs old and a beagle 9yrs. My wife and I have no
other kids.
As a result they are a very important part of our lives.
My problem lies with my cousin.
He has grow up with dogs all his life and has had a dog of his own in the
past. In May he decided to get a puppy Lab mix, cute little unit. The
problem is that in May he was also starting up his own business, which I
warned him would be very time consuming and wondered if he was able to jugle
both puppy, personal and business life. Well its now Sept and after months
of him only spending an hour or two a day with the lab, the puppy has become
destructive and unruly. For weeks I had encourage my cousin to find dog
walkers/ sitters or doggy day care. To give the poor dog something to do. He
made a weak attempt at finding these services with no results. So the dogs
life has been that of tied up outside for 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. I
feel really bad for the dog. I'm used to the freedom and attention my dogs
get. We have 7 acres of partly wooded land which our dogs are free to roam.
I have brought the issue up with my cousin several times and he does not
act. I've even tried to get him to find the dog a new home, some one with
more time.

I see this a cruel to the dog.
What should I do?

PS I don't have any room in the inn or I would take her in, plus I think my
dogs would have something to say about a new room mate.
