Ol Roy is good if you like cleaning up poop the size of cow patties.

what exactly are you looking for in a dog food? are you happy with your
dog's coat? does she seem to itch a lot or have dandruff? how's her
digestion? does she vomit, have gas, or soft stools?
do you care if the ingredients are human grade? do artificial colors or
flavors bother you? preservatives? are you looking for a specific protein
or fat level? how old is your dog? would you prefer to feed organic food?
wet? dry? extruded? baked? freeze dried? frozen?

there are a LOT of foods out there, most of them are edible and some of them
are very good. if you give a better idea of what you want in a food, you
will get better recommendations.

personally, i like to feed a kibble with a limited number of ingredients,
and no wheat or corn (my dogs have allergies). i prefer human grade meats,
and don't feed anything that says, "by product" in the ingredient list.
from my totally unscientific food tests, i've found that my dogs and i are
all happy with California Natural (either flavor). their coats are shiny,
they're a healthy weight, their stools tend to stay firm, and they don't
spend all day licking their feet or scratching themselves.

Nutro was excellent for my dog. Had everything from puppies to "very old
puppies" LOL

This really isn't something you can necessarily go by internet advice on,
because you need to feed what works best for your individual dog. That said,
there are some ways to research dog foods. Here is one site that will help -
http://www.doberdogs.com/menu.html - it offers comparison charts of pretty
much all the dog food brands available.
Personally, I would never in a million years feed Old Roy or any other
supercheep type food where the majority of ingredients are corn and other
grains, with a little unknown meat substance included. I feed my dogs
Canidae and California Natural because the ingredient list appealed to me
and because the dogs do well on those foods. While Science Diet is not a
food I would currently choose, if limited to Old Roy and SD, there is no
question I would choose SD. However there are many more food choices
available.
