Default Question for Laura Arlov

Hi Laura,

I saw your picture of your dogs and was wondering what kind of dog is
your black one? He or she is really pretty and I've only seen one
other that looks like him but didn't get a chance to ask.

Thanks!
Cymbaline

Hi Cymbaline!

I'll try to answer your question.

As far as I know, the only pictures I have posted on the web
(at http://community.webshots.com/user/larlov)
are pics of my Airedale terrier Angel, or of her breeder's
Airedale puppies.

Airedale terriers are typically born all black or almost all black
and get their caramel-colored edges gradually, as they mature.
So the younger an Airedale is, the more black it has on it.
I have also seen the webpage of an American kennel that breeds
a black Airedale variation.

The only other black dogs I take pictures of - and perhaps may
have posted elsewhere, - though I can't think where - are my
breeder's Pumis - small Hungarian herding dogs with very,
very characteristic " stick-straight-up-and-fold-over-a-
tiny-bit-at-the-top" ears. Pumis come in most solid
colors, solid black being especially common. Many
Pumis in Scandinavia do agility.

For the curious, I have just added a picture of several
pumis to my webshots album - see link above.

Sincerely,
Laura and Angel the Airedale

holy cow, those are some of the cutest dogs i've ever seen. i love the
ears! i've never seen (or even heard of) one before.

I haven't either. They are cute, though I have a thing
about fur like that. Be it poodle, airedale etc. Still cute!
