Subterfuge .... and other virtues
A triathlon for dogs will be held Sunday, and Mac will be on the local
tvnews Friday to demonstrate how it's done. He's the odds-on favorite, but I, as always, have a scheme in mind. A volunteer will bring Clemmie from the shelter: http://www.sbacc.org/DOGS%20Current/cfull.jpg She adores Mac and will stick by his side through thick and thin. (I took her swimming with him.) So, .... if they're ahead, and I call Mac off at the last second, there'll be a wonderful story: "Homeless Dog Wins Triathlon". Wouldn't that be grand? Oh, problem. Weave-poles. Unless she follows Mac, there's no way I can teach her that in time. Unless someone has a magic gimmick? Just because humans are slow and can't smell or hear very well doesn't mean they don't possess a primitive type of intelligence. |
