Default Dog behavior after losing the other dog.

Hi Everybody,

I recently lost my 8 year old Golden Retriver, Kailey, to a brain aneurysm.
(Thanks in advance for any condolences.)
My question is about my 6 year old Golden, Maddie.

What can I expect from the way she'll act over the next weeks and months?
She is very clingy at the moment,
constantly following me around and wants to be petted all the time.

If I have any intentions of getting another dog to keep her company, how
long should I wait?

Thanks,
Kev
