Default Dogs on pavement

What is the best way to avoid damaging a growing dog's joints when the dog
constantly is on hard surfaces? Most of what I've read say that a young puppy
should not go for long walks, jogging, etc and should get most of its exercise
in play. Pepper is a jumping bean at 4 months - she can run at the park and
play with the dogs there for an hour, nap, then be ready to go again. Most of
our walks are around the neighborhood - all on pavement. We do long walks
before I go to work and at night. Could the walks possibly be damaging to her
joints?

If you can cope ~ not easy with my 4mth pup (I know!!!), how about trying
to keep it to every other or every third day. That way you are building
muscle but giving the joints time to rest.... basically as I did with my old
and disabled dog who was suffering joint problems.
