housebreaking a 9 month old
Hi, we need some help.
We've recently adopted a 9 month old English Bull Terrier. We're a dog family, and have never had problems in the past, and currently have two other dogs in the home. Our new pup doesn't do too bad during the day as we have a dog door and he can go out at any time... but the night is another thing. We have crate trained him, so we started out keeping him in the crate in our bedroom overnight. We've found that he'll crap in his cage, without whimpering or making a sound, and then walk through it making an absolute mess. We've tried leaving the crate door open, and then he'll leave the crate, but crap on the livingroom floor. We don't feed him after 5:00 PM, and we take him out around 11:00 PM.... Otherwise, he seems very well adjusted. We've just never had a dog who didn't care about soiling his own bed area... Any ideas? --Warren |
