newbie question: licking legs
Hello!
This is my first post to this ng. My rescued St. Bernard licks his front legs a lot. The saliva makes his legs an ugly reddish color. I have heard that this might be due to allergies. Is this true? Regardless of what causes it, how can I get him to stop? Is there any way to "get the red out" (sorry, couldn't resist)? Thanks for any info you can give me. Llew |

Your Vet will be able to decide the best course of treatment. Often allegies can be from the food you are feeding as well. I would recommend going to the Vet first. Gwen |

It probably isn't his saliva causing the redness but the friction from his tongue. friction can change the color of a dog's fur? i had no idea. -kelly |
